S-Map-Db Stock Management And Planning Database |
S-Map DB is a Stock management and planning database designed for both small manufacturing companies and retail sales. Written in Microsoft Access and VBA it can be adapted for each companies needs with bespoke add-ins. Standard modules include Sales Orders, Purchase orders, Works Orders, Invoicing, Customers, Suppliers, Stock and Bill of Materials
Various methods of determining stock requirements are built in to make it suitable for different company types. Sales and purchase ordering systems allow the user to keep an accurate tally of stock and multiple locations can be set up. A powerful Bill of Materials system is multi-layered and allows the system to be used to plan material requirements (MRP) for complex machines.
For engineering companies the parts and drawing database links to various CAD systems enabling the import of BOMs, creation of drawing numbers and storage of manufacturing files in formats such as dxf, pdf and step. From the quote request module all drawings and manufacturing files can be automatically collated and issued via email to the supplier together with the quote request. Check lists can be printed with images to ease the task of checking off incoming goods.
A documentaion storage system allows any document type, including pdfs, jpegs, Word and Excel, to be linked to any part in the database which can then be quickly and easily retrieved and opened directly from the system. Hyperlinks can also be copied, pasted and stored and existing CAD files opened either with a CAD file viewer or with the appropriate installed application. A jpeg image for all parts can either be saved from the CAD system or easily uploaded, this will then display automatically when the part details are viewed.
Machine build matrices can be created to enable multiple machine configurations to be created which in turn can be used to create sales orders and invoices and costings. The works order system enable assemblies and machines to be built in stages so when the end product is finally sold all its component parts are removed from stock. Invoices can be exported from the system in a suitable format to import into Accounts systems such as Sage.
